Celebrating Kid's Day in Sunday School!

This past Sunday, June 3rd, we celebrated, День Защиты Детей, or"Day for the Protection of Children" in Sunday school. This holiday is actually celebrated on June 1st of each year. It falls on the calendar right after school has been dismissed for the year. On this day, numerous public activities are held all over the city to celebrate the end of school. This holiday also gives the police a chance to remind everyone that children are now free from school and will be running, playing, and bike riding more so drivers should be aware. Unfortunately, each year just after school is out for the summer, there are many car accidents involving children.

In preparation for Sunday we purchased gifts as well as some sweet cup cake goodies to give out to all who were in attendance. Praise the Lord we had more children than we expected and had to use some gifts we keep on hand for VBS programs and birthdays! We were happy to see eighteen children present and excited about Sunday school. Once school is out and they have six other days in the week to sleep in as late as they can our attendance always increases.
We have a good group of kids with many siblings and even entire families of children coming together!
They were sort of cramped in a small room in our old house.

Praise the Lord we need a larger room and even more chairs!
Next week we will be beginning the cleaning process in the old house to be able to use the largest room we have for Sunday school and meetings.

The kids enjoyed playing Bop-It before and after the service.

After our verses, songs, and Bible lesson, we all went across the street to a field where the boys enjoyed playing soccer while the girls enjoyed...

creating new hairdos for one another!

It was a beautiful day...

A few of the boys enjoying their prizes.

and a great Sunday serving the Lord!
